Kani is the Kashmiri name of wooden spool which works in weaving of Pashmina Kani Sozni shawls on the
Handloom. Kani Sozni shawls are woven by Pure Pashmina on handlooms with the help of kanis. Kanis are
small eyeless bobbins used in place of the shuttle. Cashmere Pashmina Shawls weaving is completely
regulated by a coded pattern, called Talim drawn by the Naqash for guidance of the pashmina shawls weaver.
The original Kani Jamawar shawls take upto four years to weave and the price range of Kani shawls starts
from 2000 USD.
